Flexera's platform manages millions of dollars in software spend for enterprise organizations. Designing for that environment means designing for complexity without creating it. Every screen had to surface the right information at the right moment, clearly, quickly, and without friction.

The core challenge was making a deeply complex platform feel intuitive to IT professionals managing software portfolios at enterprise scale.

Flexera's platform covers everything from license management and hardware inventory to SaaS tracking, cloud spend, and compliance reporting. The data is dense and the stakes are high, underutilized licenses and unmanaged spend represent real financial exposure. Our job was to design an interface that gave IT teams clarity and control without oversimplifying a platform that genuinely needs depth.

We mapped how enterprise IT professionals actually navigate software asset management and where the existing interface was slowing them down.

Research focused on understanding the workflows of IT asset managers, procurement teams, and system administrators. Three distinct user types with different goals on the same platform. Understanding where those needs overlapped and where they diverged was critical to designing a navigation and information architecture that worked for all of them without compromise.

A redesigned platform experience that brought clarity to one of enterprise IT's most complex management challenges.

The final design gave Flexera's users a cleaner, faster path to the insights they needed most. From estimated annual spend and active user percentages to underutilized accounts and actionable recommendations. A consistent design system, intuitive navigation, and data visualizations built for quick comprehension made a powerful platform significantly easier to use at scale.
